Code of Conduct

Be kind. Be curious. Have fun.

Startup Day is a place for founders, builders, and supporters to learn from each other and make real connections. These guidelines exist to make sure everyone has a great experience. They apply to all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and staff.

Be Professional

This is a professional event. Keep your interactions appropriate for a workplace setting. Communicate respectfully, be mindful of your language, and remember that you're representing yourself and your company.

Be Respectful

Treat everyone with basic courtesy regardless of background, identity, experience level, or company size. Respect personal boundaries. Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.

Don't Be Disruptive

Be present and let others be present too. During talks and panels, don't have side conversations, take phone calls, or otherwise distract from the speaker. Step outside if you need to take a call. Don't monopolize conversations during networking sessions. Give others a chance to participate.

Report Concerns

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this code of conduct, please let us know. You can find any staff member (look for the staff badge) or email us at startupday@seattleflow.org. All reports will be taken seriously and handled discreetly.

Enforcement

Anyone who violates this code of conduct may be asked to leave the event without a refund, at the sole discretion of the organizers.
