The builders behind Startup Day
Marcelo Calbucci is founder and CEO of Seattle Flow, the front door to Seattle's startup scene, and organizer of Startup Day. A serial entrepreneur, he co-founded EveryMove (a Techstars company) and Seattle 2.0 (acquired by GeekWire), served as CTO at Hiya, and was on the founding team at Pioneer Square Labs. Previously Director of Product & Tech at Amazon and engineering manager at Microsoft building Bing. Author of The PRFAQ Framework. He has a Computer Science degree.
Shauna Causey founded Weekdays, a micro-schools marketplace, while a Partner at Madrona Venture Labs. Previously VP of Marketing at Decide (acquired by eBay) and VP at Techstars Startup Weekend. She launched Nordstrom's first app and led their innovation lab. Named to Business Journal's 40 Under 40. Seattle Pacific University alum.
Kailin Spencer is co-founder of Brand Heist, helping founders and teams grow through brand strategy, marketing, events, and experiential activations. A freelance event professional for 4+ years, she previously served as Director of Events for a global event planning company and has produced conferences across tech, construction, and nonprofit sectors. UW alum.
Marc Nager is a managing partner at Howdy Partners venture fund. He co-founded Startup Weekend and served as CEO of UP Global, supporting nearly one million entrepreneurs across five continents before selling to Techstars, where he became Chief Community Officer. Previously Managing Director of Telluride Venture Accelerator.
